1. The cost of software

Dental laboratory scanners need to be connected to a proprietary software to get started, which for many brands is available for a fee. According to the different types of charges, there are three types of usage rights.

Permanent License

Perpetual licenses allow consumers to use the software for a long period of time after paying the full price in one lump sum. However, this time the fee usually does not include the software upgrade fee, which means that if the manufacturer’s software is upgraded and the consumer wants to use the upgraded version of the software, he or she needs to pay extra.

Service Subscription/Maintenance-Based Plans

A service subscription or maintenance-based program is usually more expensive than a perpetual license because it includes the next release. Consumers need to renew annually to continue to receive the latest updates for support and software.

Cloud-based subscriptions

With cloud-based subscriptions, consumers can subscribe to the latest software on a monthly or annual basis. The difference between this model and the first two is that the consumer doesn’t own the software — that’s why only a subscription fee is required.

Of course, it is worth mentioning that the software that comes with our dental laboratory scanner LS100 does not require additional charges, and software updates are provided free of charge, which is why our products are more worthy of choice.

2. The value of the product itself

The emergence of any product has undergone long-term research, which has cost researchers a lot of effort. It takes at least 9-12 months to develop a new 3D dental laboratory scanner.

Once invented, it has to be patented, then it has to be field tested, then the industrial designer has to create the look of it, and then the manufacturer has to apply for various certifications like CE, FDA, etc. These series of processes all require time, effort and money.

In addition, the purchase of parts and the high salaries of R&D personnel are also part of the cost. This is demonstrated by the dental laboratory scanner LS100 with a high accuracy of 8 μm and no post-processing time.

3. Added value

Warranty

The dental lab scanner LS100 comes with a warranty of up to 18 months, which means that if the scanner fails, the manufacturer must repair it free of charge for 18 months after the consumer purchases the product.

Marketing

Without the presence of a website or advertisement, consumers or agents would not be able to find a manufacturer of dental scanners, and the product would not be known and understood. The construction of the website and the placement of advertisements all need to hire professional personnel to be responsible and promote it.

Sales/Distribution Support

For consumers and agents who want to buy or represent the dental laboratory scanner LS100, the manufacturer must assign a part of full-time sales staff to explain the basic information and advantages of the product to them, so that customers have a certain understanding of the product .

In the end, what I want to say is all labs need their dental laboratory scanner.
